My name is Kelli. This GoFundMe is to remove financial stress from Joel and Cicely as they prepare for Oliver’s second open heart surgery.

At 25 weeks pregnant Cicely and Joel were sent to a Pediatric Cardiologist for concern of a congenital heart defect. It was confirmed that their Baby Boy had a complex congenital heart defect.

Oliver was born September 7 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS)- one of the most serious congenital heart defects. This means that the structures on the left side of the heart did not develop normally.

This diagnosis requires a series of 3 open heart surgeries. Oliver underwent his first open heart surgery at 5 days old. From X-rays, to open heart surgery, to chest closure, wound vac, removal of chest tubes, to intubation and

extubation, thyroid testing, ENT scope, swallow study, countless blood draws, and a blood transfusion. Oliver spent 64 days in the hospital before going home to see his big Brother, Hendrix.

Oliver requires special care at home daily. His oxygen levels are closely monitored, He requires a feeding tube as well as having his weight checked daily to help him grow. Oliver sees his Cardiologist for weekly check ups and requires medical supplies to be delivered weekly.

The funds given will be used to pay off medical bills that are continuing to grow for the Gomez family.
