Jeriah is eleven years old and was rushed to the hospital Monday December 15th in the early morning for respiratory distress. After being stabilized they ran some test and they found a mass in his chest. He was flown straight to Cook’s Children’s in Fort Worth after more blood work PET scans MRI bone biopsies and spinal taps Doctors say Jeriah has T cell Lymphoma (non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma).
Jeriah has a long road ahead. This is not the first battle with pediatric cancer this family has fought. Jeriah lost is younger sister to cancer two years ago. Brooke, Jeriah's grandmother, has had to walk away from the business she just started. The treatment for pediatric cancer is very expensive and takes a long time. The Gomez family will need a lot of financial support in the coming weeks and months. Jerry, Jeriah's grandfather, will be staying home in order to take care of Jeriah's younger brother Keano who is still in elementary school. That means long weeks of separation for this family.
