We are looking to help fund our mission trip to Thailand in December; working with and supporting children in the northern Hill Tribe community and their escape from the sex trade.
For those that do not know us, we are Mark and Carolyn Gomez, two high school teachers who live in the Los Angeles area. Ever since our young daughter was born, we wanted to instill in her the values of compassion and charity by experiencing the giving of love to others and by cultivating a broader view of the world. When the opportunity came to volunteer on a two-week mission trip to Thailand with the Handclasp Christian humanitarian organization over our winter break, we felt it was the perfect experience for her and an opportunity for us to grow as a family.
We will be staying with a Hill Tribe group in Musikee, a small village in Northern Thailand, and will spend most of our time with the children who are staying at the center to support their efforts to escape the sex trade in Thailand. We will be offering our time and fellowship, putting on a carnival and other events for the children as well as working on small maintenance projects around the center.
Such a mission trip is not cheap, especially for a growing family. With the trip just around the corner in December, we've set up this page to ask for the support of friends and family for our trip. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be used to pay for school supplies and other neccessities of the children at the center.
We are grateful for all your support and please share this page with your family and friends!
