Golf Marathon for 4Louis: Swinging in Memory
Honouring Aneira – A Golf Marathon for 4Louis
On 25th July, myself (Rhys), along with my brother Elis and two friends Lewis Perkins and Mitchell Bacon, will be taking on a huge challenge: playing four full rounds of golf – 72 holes – in a single day at Hainault Golf Club. The equivalent of walking a marathon… while swinging clubs and sinking putts!
But this isn’t just a test of stamina or a love of golf. This is personal.
In November 2023, Fi and I experienced what we never though imaginable. We lost our beautiful daughter, Aneira, at 34 weeks. We went into hospital full of excitement and hope. We left with a memory box.
That memory box – as small as it may seem – is now one of our most treasured possessions. It contains Aneira's handprints, footprints, a lock of her hair, and our chains, with which she holds the heart – irreplaceable memories, all made possible by the incredible charity 4Louis.
4Louis gave us something to hold onto in our darkest moments. They continue to give Aneira's big brother a way to remember and talk about the sister he never got to meet. That box, and the support surrounding it, helped carry us through.
Now, we’re in a place where we want to give back. This golf marathon is our way of honouring Aneira's name and supporting a charity that helps thousands of grieving families every year.
Every donation, big or small, will help 4Louis continue their vital work – providing memory boxes, bereavement support, and love to families like ours when they need it most.
Thank you so much for your support.
