GoldStar Learning Options is a place where children and adults with intellectual and developmental differences find support, make friends, and learn important skills. We're dedicated to helping every individual reach their full potential and live a fulfilling life. But right now, we're facing a critical challenge and urgently need your support.

We recently moved into a new building, excited to expand our services and reach more families. However, we encountered a major setback. Two out of our three AC/heating systems failed! It has been recommended that we replace two of the three units as soon as possible to ensure a comfortable learning environment for our clients. While the 3rd unit is operational, it is carrying the weight of heating the whole building which can lead to additional strain on the unit and uneven heating throughout.

With winter approaching, our need for functional heating is urgent. To The T Plumbing & Heating has generously reserved the replacement units for us, and they are ready for installation. We hope to secure the necessary funding for the prohibitively high cost of the units, our expert assessment confirms that this replacement effectively resolves the problem, eliminating the need for further costly repairs. Many of our clients have sensory sensitivities. For some individuals, cold temperatures can be particularly distressing, leading to sensory overload and heightened anxiety. Maintaining a comfortable and consistent temperature within our clinic is crucial to ensuring the well-being of those we serve.

We believe this HVAC issue was an oversight by the contractor. The inspection report noted that the units were functioning but recommended replacement. Sadly, this problem arose less than a month after finalizing building repairs despite little to no usage. Replacing the units is the only way to guarantee uninterrupted service and eliminate the risk of ongoing repairs.

Without your support, we fear the strain on the 3rd unit may lead to reduced functionality and additional costly repairs. We are deeply passionate about the difference we make for the individuals in our program and are honored to provide the essential therapy and services they depend on.

Cost Breakdown:

Northeast portion of the building: 17.5 Ton, 2400 lbs; Replace the Trane RTU with a brand new American Standard RTU. $45,250

LWP and back portion of the building: 15 ton, 2200 lbs; Replace Trane RTU with American Standard RTU. $44,350

The quotes include removing the old units, installing the new ones, and renting a crane.
