Goldie's Surgery: A Daughter's Plea

Hello, my name is Kaylyn, but this story is about my daughter and the dog she loves dearly. A few years ago, her golden lab, Goldie, developed a growth on her leg. We took her in to have it checked out and removed. Doctors drained the growth and were concerned it was cancer but not positive without a biopsy. They said: “If it doesn’t grow back, she’s likely just fine and it was a cyst of some kind.” Well, over the last few months, a new growth in the same spot has developed again. Much larger and clearly causing Goldie pain. This one requires surgery to remove (not simply draining) and a biopsy to determine if it’s malignant. She has been losing weight quickly since the growth returned, despite eating more than her recommended diet each day, plus treats.

The surgery to remove the growth is approximately $1500 due to her size and the anesthesia needed. The biopsy will be approximately $650, and blood work and any other tests needed to see if the weight loss is related will be another $500. She will have follow-up visits needed and medications afterward.

I am asking for ANY help you can provide us to get the medical care needed for our sweet baby. My daughter is devastated and so worried for her puppy’s health and would be lost without Goldie. Goldie is almost 5 and my daughter is 9. They are very close.

We have had some hardship money-wise this year due to a sudden job change and unexpected expenses for plumbing and roof issues. So I ask, again, ANY help you can provide is so unbelievably appreciated. Goldie is a part of our family, and we have to get her taken care of.

Thank you! God bless you all!
