Hi everyone! I hate to do this, but our Goldie girl needs some medical attention that just isn't in our budget. A little over a year ago, we rescued our 6-year-old golden retriever, and since then, it's been one thing after another with her health.
When we first got her, it looked like she had hot spots, so we took her to the vet to get assessed. They gave her a steroid shot and told us she has allergies, so she was put on Apoquel. I wanted a second opinion, so we took her to another vet who assessed her and said she doesn't have allergies; she just had some fungal stuff going on. She was taken off the Apoquel and given an antibiotic. That seemed to take care of that situation, but then we noticed a mass in her mouth, so we had to have that checked out.
Fallbrook Vet gave us a quote of $600-700 to remove it, as well as a possible tooth removal. But with her age, she needs bloodwork prior to surgery to make sure her body can handle the anesthesia, and with that comes another couple hundred dollars. I recently noticed the mass getting bigger, and I really would like to get our girl back to 100% before it really starts affecting her. Like I said, I hate to ask for help financially, but it's the only thing we could do to make sure our girl is taken care of in a timely manner.
With my appreciation and love of animals, if there is any money leftover after her procedure, I will be donating it to a local animal shelter or to another animal in need of medical attention. We really appreciate your help in helping our Goldie girl.
