Goldie Huddleston's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On May 10th of this year our mother, Goldie Huddleston, had to undergo emergency brain surgery after suffering from a bilateral subarachnoid hemorrhage (a bleed in the brain).
At first, our mom thought she just had a migraine until she started having trouble with her senses (even walking and standing). Our grandfather and uncle (who were with her at the time) took her to the Emergency Room in Comanche, Texas.
The doctors in Comanche ran tests and did not have the equipment to handle a bilateral subarachnoid hemorrhage. She was CareFlighted to Hendricks Hospital in Abilene, Texas. However, doctors were unable to operate there as well. She was then sent via ambulance to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
The surgeon informed us that there was only a 50% chance of our mom surviving the surgery. We were blessed with a miracle when we received the news that our mom had made it through. They were able to stop the bleeding of the aneurysm, but they had to remove 25% of her skull to fix it. She remembered all her family and came out as strong-willed as ever, with full mobility everywhere, except for her right eye.
Unfortunately, she developed an infection that required additional surgery and antibiotic treatment (via IV) for 6 weeks. This medicine caused a reaction leading to fatally low potassium levels, which resulted in another stay in the ER. Thankfully, her infection is now gone and we are anxiously waiting for the surgery to be scheduled for her skull piece to be put back.
We have started this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of surgeries, hospital stays, and emergency transportation. The medical expenses are already astronomical, and they continue to climb. We cannot even afford the deposit the hospital requires to book the surgery of having her skull piece put back. It has been a long and stressful five months, and our mother still has a long way to go for a full recovery. After the skull piece is replaced and healed, she will have to undergo multiple eye surgeries for her eye to become fully functional again.
Our mother is a spitfire and a passionate individual and has always put the needs of her family first. So, we humbly ask you to share this link with family and friends and to donate if possible. We greatly appreciate any help that we receive. Please keep our mother in your prayers for a full recovery. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Korry and Jennifer
