Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation
Donation protected
Dear Family & Friends,
Over winter break, my family and I went to Thailand. While we were there, we stayed at an elephant sanctuary. They were rescuing elephants that were used in the lumber industry. The elephants hurt their backs carrying logs and were scarred from being whipped. For my bat mitzvah project, I have decided to donate to the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF). The Foundation helps to make sure the sanctuary has sufficient funding to care for my elephant friends. It costs roughly $18,000 USD annually to care and support an elephant . At this sanctuary, they are helping 20 elephants. To earn this money, I will be doing a bike-a-thon. I have a minimum goal of biking 100 miles. I started biking on our trip to Thailand. My goal is to raise $1,000. You can sponsor me for each mile or donate a set amount. I will be tracking all of my bike rides on Strava. You can download Strava and request to follow me (Mila Schneider), or I will also be posting my rides on this site with weekly updates. With Strava, you can see my time, average speed, total distance, and amount of incline. You can also follow the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation on Instagram @GTAEF_Thailand.
Thank you for your support,
