My name is Malcom Kazimil, and I’m proud to co-lead the Golden Summer initiative, a youth-driven project that brings educational equity, empowerment, and inspiration to under-resourced schools in Tanzania.
This year, we return to Kawe Ukwamani Secondary School in Dar es Salaam with three major missions:
- Library Renovation – The current library lacks shelves, proper seating, and basic educational resources. We aim to create a safe, vibrant space filled with books that spark curiosity and knowledge.
- FEMpower – A female empowerment program that pairs mentorship with workshops on leadership, health, career skills, and self-confidence.
- STEM Outreach – Hands-on coding, electronics, and soft-skills sessions to help girls dream bigger and build brighter futures.
We’re raising £1,700, and every donation will go directly to:
- Books, tables, paint & tools for the library: £800
- FEMpower workshop materials, transport & refreshments: £400
- STEM kits & tutoring support: £400
- Admin, logistics & contingency: £100
Why It Matters
Education saved me. Growing up in a small fishing town, I saw the power of access, how a book, a mentor, or a moment can spark a future. Golden Summer gives that spark to others. Especially girls who are too often left behind.
Let’s change that, together.
Whether you donate £5 or £500, you’re helping write her future.
