We’re proud to introduce Golden Gate Garba (GGG), the first-ever collegiate Raas and Garba competition hosted in the Bay Area, founded and organized by UC Berkeley students!
We are an Official RAS XVIII Bid Competition for the 2025-2026 season! Raas-All-Stars (RAS) is the national collegiate Raas-Garba board, who works every year in partnership with universities like UC Berkeley, to successfully engage over 5,000+ students, professionals, community members, and partnering nonprofit organizations.
Our mission is to create a platform that celebrates Indian culture, fosters community, and showcases the incredible talent and creativity of collegiate dancers from across the nation. Garba and Raas are vibrant folk dances from Gujarat, India, full of energy, rhythm, and storytelling — and our goal is to share this cultural artistry with the broader Bay Area community while representing UC Berkeley on a national stage.
This spring, we’ll be welcoming top collegiate dance teams from around the country to San Francisco to perform at the McKenna Theatre at SFSU. Teams will compete through elaborate choreography, music, and visual storytelling that bring centuries-old traditions to life in a modern and dynamic way.
By donating, you’re helping us make history, not only by helping us host the Bay Area’s first collegiate Raas and Garba competition, but by creating a lasting cultural legacy at UC Berkeley. Your contributions will directly support competition logistics, venue and stage production, lighting, sound, hospitality, and cultural programming. This includes ensuring that every team has an amazing experience through high-quality technical equipment, a well-prepared venue, meals and snacks throughout the weekend, and custom GGG merchandise that makes this inaugural year unforgettable.
✨ Golden Gate Garba is more than just a competition, it’s a celebration of culture, community, and creativity. Help us bring this vision to life and make the Bay shine gold!
