Be a part of the team - help Rachael and Miriam get to the 2024 Paris Paralympics
In October 2017 Rachael won the national closed circuit championships as the season closed. She spent the winter getting herself ready for what was to be her best TT season ever. Then just before her 40th Birthday on the 21st February 2018 she had a haemorrhagic stroke.
After this Rachael had to learn to walk again, and lost 90% of her vision.
She was quick to get back on the bike with the help of our friends from Zwift, and has enjoyed indoor and tandem racing ever since. All the while trying to get classification to allow her to ride paracycling events.
She has finally been classified in the last month and has been invited to attend the selection process for the 2024 Rio World Championships and the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
Due to the delays in Rachael getting classified she has missed the dedicated British cycling programmes and has therefore been offered an opportunity to self-fund.
Anyone who knows Rachael will know that she will only have her eyes set on gold and nothing else will do. With her female pilot Miriam, she won the British cycling time trial championships after only meeting the day before.
All funds raised will go towards bike, equipment, travel & accommodation to ensure they can meet the selection process to attend these 2 prestigious events, as well as world cup events in the run up.
