GOLD GEESE FUNDRAISE
Just over a week ago, we sadly lost our Mum after a short and aggressive battle with cancer. Instead of accepting flower donations, I know Mum would much rather money be spent on something that can make a real positive change in peoples lives. We know how tough it is as a family when a loved one is battling cancer, and we would love to try and be able to make it a little bit easier for other families. We would be so grateful if you can keep sharing this and we can keep raising money and awareness in memory of our Mum.
Gold Geese (previously Hattie's Heroes) are a small group of local mums that aim to provide support and gifts to children fighting cancer and their families.
They aim to help and support local children in the Southend-On-Sea area. The Gold Geese children are on active treatment for cancer, however, should a family become bereaved due to childhood cancer the family will remain on our charities list. Siblings and parents are sometimes in need of looking after following a childhood cancer diagnosis, we aim to provide for them as well.
The team are working on providing compassion support and advice for schools that have a child with cancer under their care. This includes support for teachers, friends and peer groups. Gold Geese aim to eventually have sufficient skills to help with bereavement advice for schools too, should it be needed.
