My name is Christopher, and I'm reaching out for help to save my best friend, my Siberian Husky named Kiagan. We've been inseparable since he's been 6 months old, and he's more than just a pet – he's my family/service dog and he is all I have. I have Lyme disease and degenerative joint disease so some days can be extremely difficult for me.
Recently, Kiagan was diagnosed with diabetes. The vet bills have been piling up on top of my own, and as much as I want to give him the best care possible, it's getting really tough to afford everything he needs. I live alone, so I don't have anyone to split the costs with. That's why I'm turning to all of you, kind strangers, for some help.
The main thing Kiagan needs is insulin. It's expensive, and he'll be on it for the rest of his life. There are also regular vet visits, blood tests to monitor his condition which means test strips are needed (about $50 a month alone), and a special diet. Sometimes he gets secondary infections that need antibiotics. It all adds up really fast.
I'm not looking for a free ride, but any little bit you can donate will make a huge difference. I just want to give Kiagan the same unconditional love he's always given me. He's always there to brighten up my day, and now it's my turn to be there for him.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing this with your friends and family. The more eyes I can get on this, the better. Thank you so much for taking the time to read Kiagan's story. He may be just a dog to some, but to me, he's the world.
