Going to London for extensive treatment
On February 28th, I have gone through two operations, which were followed by another operation on April 4th and will be followed by further operations in June 2023 and probably afterward.
On February 28th, besides intussusception, full internal prolapse, enterocele and rectocele (in highest degrees), surgeons found a huge volvulus (knot/twist) in my left sigmoid corner. My large intestine was totally damaged and useless, therefore it is removed.
Our hospital costs are so high (currently reaching above 200,000 Euros). It is a challenging time for us because we are trying to sustain ourselves despite being unemployed. Your contributions help us a lot because we can use them when we are booking our travel tickets to the UK and when we are extending our stay at Airbnb's around the hospital region.

Initially published story: I am suffering from a very complex intestinal disease since 2013. In short; my vagus nerve damage stopped my peristalsis. As a result of this, in time, since I couldn't get the medical attention in my home country the Netherlands, my disease turned into Grade 4 Intussusception and Grade 4.5 rectal prolapse. Right now, my situation is causing me extreme disability. I am mostly homebound. Besides all, everyday I have the danger of perforation (tearing down the intestinal walls) which is fatal. Frequently, I lose consciousness with severe pain. I can hardly sleep and since March 2022 I am not able to work anymore. I am desperately waiting for surgery. We are so grateful that the royal surgeon Dr. Charles Knowles from the Cleveland Clinic in London took my case with his multidisciplinary team and it is likely that they will operate on me to save my life. I have an upcoming appointment on January 25th 2023 which will be the first in person intake. We do not know how long the hospital tests and further surgery planning will take. We need to stay in London for a several weeks or months. This will be financially very heavy since we need to stay in the middle of the capital city.
