HI my name Is Shawn and I am fundraising for a new wheelchair.

I am From Burlington Ont. Canada. I play guitar and write songs. I was born with a rare Condition Called Morquio Syndrome. It effects all bones and tissue. I have had many broken bones and surgeries in my life. I have Scoliosis and stand 4 feet tall.

Because of the physical changes and the degenerative progress of Morquio it's time to get a new chair that can make life a little easier. One of the key features of the new chair is a footplate that can be adjusted. It works on a hydraulic piston that raises and lowers the footplate. This will allow me to transfer independently when I need to.

Recently I was diagnosed with a small tumor located in L2 area of my spine. TheDoctor said The Tumor is most likely benign and it appears to have been there a very long time. It has grown very slowly over the last four years. However, it is now causing numbness in my right leg and I can no longer take a step. I am waiting for an MRI and follow up to see what to do next. But as a result it has become increasingly more and more difficult to lift my leg and transfer to and from my current chair.
