Going through a rough patch - really rough!

Hi, I am Lora, single mom (for 14 years) to my daughter Carson (16). We live in Greenville, SC.

The title is true - a really rough patch & it is difficult for me to ask for help but here is our story on why we need help.

On July 28th, I took a nasty fall down a flight of stairs, back flips down and a hard crash. Funny part is the clean laundry I was carrying up had a better landing then I did. The result was a broken clavicle, severe concussion, & other body trauma. Surgery to repair the clavicle is not an option. I am on short term disability which is only 60% of my base pay and I can’t make my bonus/commission.

But wait there is more…

On July 31st a storm moved in & a tree fell into our house - I was home when it happened. It took out our second floor, even some electricity on that floor. Yes, I have State Farm insurance, they have been slow but 2 months later work will commence tomorrow on repairing it.

On August 26th, my neighbor had a tree service out to take down some trees that he had compromised during the storm, I was outside with one of my dogs. I saw the tree he was taking down w / success but then a creaking noise, I got worried, got the dog inside first and the next thing I knew the tree came down but the branches of that tree took me down! I was pinned underneath the beaches! Needless to say it furthered my injuries.

Needless to say it’s been challenging for my daughter & me. My daughter has been working more to help with the bills & she has to be my extra “arm” because I am so limited too what I can do with my injuries.
