Going through a rough patch. Anything helps.
Donation protected
We never thought we’d be here again, but life has a way of knocking you down when you least expect it. We’ve hit a rough patch, and as much as it hurts to ask, we don’t know what else to do.
Sean was recently laid off and, because he was a 1099 contractor, he doesn’t qualify for unemployment. To make matters worse, when his contract ended, he was shorted nearly $20k…money we’ll likely never see. At the same time, Tabitha just started a new job, so we’re working hard to rebuild, but it feels like every step forward comes with another obstacle in our way.
We had just caught up from our last hardship, and for the first time in a long time, we felt like we were getting back on steady ground. But with our savings tied up in a family trip we had saved for and an attempt to launch a business, the timing of all this couldn’t have been worse.
Sean is spending every waking hour applying for jobs, picking up side gigs, selling valuables on eBay and hustling in any way possible to cover the bills. But right now, it’s not enough. We’re doing everything we can to get through this, and we’re hopeful that next month will be kinder to us.
It feels uncomfortable and even a little gross to ask, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride. We’re simply looking for some help to get through this moment—help that will give us the breathing room to stand on our feet again.
If you’re able to give, please know it means the world to us. And if you’d prefer, we’re more than happy to pay back any donation once we’re stable again. More than anything, we believe in the good that comes back around when people show up for each other.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering helping us through this tough season.
