Barnie's Place is dedicated to taking care of sick and injured stray and feral cats in our community. A large portion of our time is spent with trap, neuter and return.
We frequently assist with situations where cats have been abandoned by their owners when they move away or pass away. Recently we have been assisting with colony of cats all from the same home who were left outside after the owner abandoned them. There are about 14 cats in the colony currently. We have started to spay and neuter the group. This group of cats are all sick and need extra help. Four of the cats need quite a bit of assistance.
Buddy has dental issues that is affecting his sinuses and his eyes. He is going to need a dental with extractions. We did neuter him.
EJ is very tiny and severely underweight for her age. She has hardly any teeth in her mouth and the teeth she does have need to be extracted. A dental will help her eat better and gain weight. We have spayed her.
Moonlight had emergency surgery yesterday for a prolapsed colon that was a good 4-5 inches and the worst our vet had ever seen. She is not spayed yet and will receive an additional procedure called a complex’s during her spay surgery in two weeks.
Smoky stopped eating after a few days of her rescue. We thought she had an upper respiratory infection and was placed on an antibiotic. But she stopped eating and made an emergency visit. Smoky had an abscessed tooth that was so severe the pus was coming out her nose and out of her tear duct.
