Going Bald for Becca

Hi my name is Karen and it's my total privilege to have this most wonderful and amazing young lady in my life.

Becca is like a daughter to me and who knows in the future she may become my daughter in law.

Becca has the most amazing and vibrant personality, and lights up a room with her quit whit, vivacious personality and infectious smile. She is truly beautiful both inside and out.

So what's this all about then?

Becca is currently in the fight of her life against Accute Myeloid Lukemia. As we know cancer is an evil and indiscriminate disease, and our Becca has just been the unlucky one to get it.

She is undergoing treatment at The Christie, and I can honestly say that there is probably no better place for her to be. The staff and the facility are beyond words.

At 24, Becca is still at the start of her young life, and now she has this un-enviable battle ahead of her, I know she is strong enough to beat this.

Why am I asking for help, well for 2 reasons.

Firstly, she will not be able to work for at least 6 months and the last thing she needs to worry about is the cost of travel for treatments, needing a good wig for when she looses her hair and just paying her regular bills.

Secondly I'd like to donate to the Chritie not only for their amazingly caring and compassionate treatment but also to help them continue the research so anyone who faces this disease has a better chance of survival.

So in my true daft nature and to raise money for both causes I am going to 'GO BALD FOR BECCA' and will have my head shaved when I reach my target goal.

I really appreciate that the cost of living is hard for all of us right now, but if can find it in your heart / nature to donate whatever you can YOU WOULD REALLY BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
