Going All-In for Owen

Hi, my name is Donna and I have the pleasure of seeing this amazing, bright, and brave young man every day at school. Owen's ever-present smile is the first thing you'd notice—but his genuine kindness shines even brighter to all who meet him.

On September 5, 2024, Owen’s life took an unexpected turn. After visiting the emergency room due to persistent, intense headaches, doctors discovered he had a rare brain tumor called Craniopharyngioma.

Owen underwent his first surgery on September 6, 2024, to remove fluid and relieve the pressure to his brain. The plan was to monitor the tumor’s growth over the next few years, as complete removal of the tumor would have compromised his endocrine system function. However, within two months, the tumor grew faster than anticipated, pressing on his optic nerve and causing blindness to Owen’s left eye and strained vision to his right eye. On November 4, 2024, he must now have a second surgery to remove the brain tumor. This will mean a lengthy recovery for Owen and will necessitate lifelong medication to balance his hormone function.

The past two months have been incredibly challenging for Owen and his family. Although Owen does have insurance that will cover some of the expenses, Owen has many medical expenses that are not covered by his insurance. Therefore, we are raising funds to help with Owen’s surgeries, treatments, and medications. Your support will help provide the best possible current and future care for Owen and alleviate the unexpected financial burden on his family.

Despite these hardships, Owen continues to show remarkable strength, resilience, and a positive attitude. He is a bright light with a gentle and kind spirit. Words fail to express what a remarkable boy he really is.
