Goin The Distance - A Short Film in Need of Your Help!

Donation protected
Hi, we're Bailey and Nathan.

Some of you might know us as the two shmucks with a camera that brought you the award-winning film, Kaijuburbia! (now available publicly on YouTube!). To those of you who are new, welcome to the show! Bailey & Nathan are a creative duo who love to tell unique, often silly stories in the most absurd and entertaining way possible!

So, it is with great pleasure that we present to you: Goin' The Distance, the latest film from Two Schmucks With a Camera.

You might be wondering, "What is the film about?" "Why do you want my money, is this some sort of pyramid scheme?", or "What kind of mutual fund should I invest in?" Great questions, some of which we may be able to answer.

The story: A disgruntled office worker struggles to avoid the nightmarish hellscape of social interaction on his quest for serenity and solitude while vacationing in the great outdoors.

Why do you need money? Unfortunately, making movies ain't cheap. With this film, we wanted to do something bold and exciting, so this time we challenged ourselves to find one of the coolest places we could film around. Somewhere vast, beautiful, and unmolested by parking lots and strip malls.

Enter: Northern Minnesota. More specifically, the Iron Range region. After attending a local film festival in Ely, MN, we both fell in love with such a charming town whose backyard was home to gorgeous vistas and vibrant, picturesque scenes of nature.

In order to make filming at this location a reality, we need funds to aid in covering transportation, meals, lodging and props for our talented cast and crew. Approximately half of the funds we are raising will go to this cause, while the other half will go towards festival submissions. While this film is passion project done for the love of the craft, any additional funds raised past the initial goal will go to paying our amazing actors!

What is the current timeline of this project? Casting is in its final stages, crew has been locked in, and an upcoming court date with Disney is set to commence any week now (kidding!). We are set to shoot during the first week of September, just after Labor Day. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, such as the rapture, we expect the film to be completed by the end of the year, ready for a healthy film festival run the following year, eventually finding itself available online not long afterwards as well.

So we ask upon you, dear reader, to open your hearts, and perhaps even your wallets to donate so that this film can go the full distance and be the best it can! Thank you all so much, the two of us cannot wait to share this film with you soon!
