Hi, my name is Nona, and I'm raising money to help my childhood friend Paige through a challenging time.
Paige and I grew up on nearby farms just south of North Bay, Ontario, and became fast friends with a shared passion for horses.
Paige, who has made a life of serving others in the horsey world and is working hard to help raise awareness about finding a better way to treat and train animals, was recently airlifted to the Sudbury hospital after being kicked by a horse. After receiving an emergency splenectomy, it was unfortunately (or fortunately?) discovered on a post-surgical PET scan that her cancer, which had been in remission for 5 years, was back. In true Paige fashion, she quickly uncovered the silver lining of catching the cancer early, making it more treatable.
While Paige is recovering well, her staples have been removed, and her pain is beginning to subside, it will likely be another 6-8 weeks of rehabilitative work and rest before she feels like her old self and can return to more physical work, travel, and teaching.
Your financial support will help Paige receive the necessary treatments and therapies, cover her travel costs, and meet her basic needs. It will also help ease the burden on her family and give her some much-needed peace of mind so she can focus on healing and easing back into the saddle to get back to doing the work she loves.
The entire Lockton Family has been an essential source of unconditional love and friendship for many of us in the Powassan, Callander, and North Bay area; now, we can return the favour by giving Paige some extra love and support to help her get back on her feet.
All donations and acts of kindness are welcome—none are too small, and every one will be appreciated.
Sometimes, the energy behind the act is the most healing of all.
Warm regards,
Nona Morrow
