Welcome to Yester-Year; a short film about two couples trying to re-examine their relationships on one awkward night on the town!
The development of this project has happened with an ease and pace that went well beyond our expectations! We started this film with a committed cast and writing team, and when Griff Orme and Nick Jarvis came onto the project, we found producers who matched our enthusiasm and drive to get this short film made. Our production company, hihellohighfive, took any and all logistical worries out of the equation, and now the vision of this story is very close to coming alive! Which brings us to why we’re here…
What we already have is as follows:
- Producing Team: Griff Orme (hihellohighfive) and Nick Jarvis
- Cast: 5 Roles, plus Background
- Crew: 10 People
- Script: 12 Scenes
- Rehearsals: July 5, 6, 7
- Shoot: July 8, 9, 10
- Locations include New York City and Austin, TX
Camera Equipment:
- RED Komodo 6K Cinema Camera Package
- Vintage Leica R 4 lens set
- Dana Dolly Kit
- Easyrig
- Sachtler Flowtech Tripod
Lighting Equipment:
- Hudson Spider Redback Parabolic LED keylight
- Aputure 600d's (Hard Light)
- Litemat 2L & 4
- Astera Titan Kit
- Dimmers and balanced bulbs
Grip Equipment:
- Menace arms for Hudson Spider and Litemats
- Tons (and tons, and tons...) of velcro for Litemats in shots
- 12x12 & (8x8) frames with neg, magic cloth, 1/2 soft frost, 1/2 grid, ultrabounce
- 4x4 floppy and silk frame set
Here are the things that we need your help with:
- Travel compensation for the cast and crew members to safely travel to and from the shoot.
- Extra lighting equipment.
- Housing for the out-of-town crew members for the 3-day shoot.
- Craft services (of course)
- Compensation for the crew, production assistants, grips
- Art/Wardrobe department supplies
It goes without saying, but every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. We are excited to share this story with you at every step of the process. Our aim is to put some good out into the world with some movie magic, but we can’t do it without all of you! Thank you so much for your support in making "Yester-Year" a reality.
