Support for Matt Wasteney’s Family & Medical Bills

As a lot of you may know my dad Matt, was a retired police officer that served 22 years in the Bay Area. My Dad has been in the hospital for over a month being treated in ICU for spinal fluid buildup and a brain tumor, which we just recently found out is inoperative and malignant. He’s had to undergo 5 surgeries in the last month and a half and will have to go through several more weeks/months of chemotherapy and radiation treatments at a special care facility to try & prevent the tumor from growing even more. Because of the tumor & pressure from the spinal fluid, he has lost most of his memory and cognitive function. This whole devastating time has made it extremely tough on our family emotionally and financially, especially my mom, who could use all the help & support she can get right now. My dad hasn't been able to work/run his business for the last month, leaving my mom with a large financial burden & having to take care of herself, my little sister, & all the household bills all on her own while also making multiple trips to the hospital to visit my dad. My mom is the strongest, most selfless person I know & has never been one to ask for help, which is the reason I want to make this as a way to raise some money to hopefully take some financial stress off of her in this extremely difficult & stressful time & help cover some of the household bills as well as medical bills that have been racking up and that will only get worse over the next few months. My dad has always been a fighter & beat the odds when he recovered from his stroke 13 years ago & with the power of love & prayer, we are optimistic that he will make it through this. We truly appreciate everyone’s prayers for my dad’s recovery & all of the love & support we have received. My dad has a huge heart and so many people that love him. Thank you to all of you & please continue to keep him in your thoughts & prayers.

 

UPDATE: My dad fought as hard

as he could for 38 days but

the tumor was just too aggressive and he passed away on Jan 23, 2022. We sadly didn’t make it to the hospital on time but know that he is at peace. We love you Dad and we’ll miss you everyday until we see you again!
