I am a pediatrician in a state with a 20% illiteracy rate.  This GoFundMe campaign was started with the following intentions:

Spreading wealth to youth of the New Orleans through the gifting of books.  

Lifting the voices of Black children’s authors and creatives. ✨

Promoting the development of positive self-image and healthy self-expression of minority youth through books BY improving access to culturally relevant and engaging reading material. ‍

In less words: giving babies books to thrive!  

Our goal is $999 to purchase 150 books from Black children’s authors. Books will be distributed individually to children & caregivers and during Well Child visits at participating clinics.
