Hello everyone. This is my mother, Cruz Malpica de Djouwayed, 76 years old, whom we affectionately call Romi. She was diagnosed on May 2 with SEVERE AORTIC STENOSIS, that is, one of the valves in her heart is almost closed and not enough blood arrives, which, if not treated, could result in a heart attack if it is not intervened as soon as possible. She is currently taking medication to slow your heart rate. What the cardiologist recommended was to implant the valve through the femoral artery, being safer and less risky for her at her age. My mom is a woman with vitality and energy that has given her the strength to continue to maintain herself, but when the function of the heart begins to fail, the consequences are fatal. That is why we urgently need to intervene and be able to keep our mom with us, and for her to be with her grandchildren and family. In Venezuela there are few qualified specialists who perform this intervention, for that reason it is very expensive and we do not have enough resources nor we have medical insurance to attend to it, which is why we decided to organize this campaign through GofundMe and share her story, looking for support in each one of you and helping us spread and share her case. We are currently seeking help from foundations and it has not been easy due to the number of people who are waiting for help, which affects us in time to have the money promptly, however, we continue to insist. Ella es mi mamá, Cruz Malpica de Djouwayed, de 76 años, a quien cariñosamente le decimos Romi, fue diagnosticada el de 2 de mayo con ESTENOSIS AORTICA SEVERA, es decir, una de las válvulas esta casi cerrada y no llega sangre suficiente lo cual si no es atendido podria resultar en un infarto de no intervenirse lo mas pronto posible. Actualmente esta tomando medicamentos para bajar el ritmo cardiaco. Lo que nos recomendo el cardiologo fue implantar la valvula a través de la arteria femoral, siendo mas segura y menos riesgosa para ella a su edad. Mi mama es una mujer con una vitalidad y energia que le ha dado fuerza para seguirse manteniendo, pero cuando la funcion del corazon comienza a fallar las consecuencias son fatales, por eso nos urge intervenirla y poder disfrutar mas a mi mama y ella a sus nietos.

En Venezuela son pocos los especialistas calificados que realizan esta intervención, por esa razón es muy costosa y no contamos con los recursos suficientes asi como tampoco seguro medico para atenderla, es por ello, que decidimos organizar esta campaña a través de GofundMe y compartir con ustedes su historia, buscando el apoyo en cada uno de ustedes y ayudandonos a difundir y compartir su caso. Actualmente estamos buscando ayuda en fundaciones y no ha sido sencillo por la cantidad de personas que estan esperando por ayuda, lo cual nos afecta en los tiempos para tener el dinero en la prontitud, sin embargo, seguimos insistiendo .
