For Vicky and her family xx

Hi my name is Vicky Davies, as most of you will know I was diagnosed with leukemia (AML) back in October 2021. Originally I was told to bring an overnight bag to be admitted in for some test, I won't lie it was the scariest and most frightening time I had ever had to face, and then that overnight visit ended up being 5 weeks and then 2nd visit was 7 weeks and 3rd visit 6 weeks admission whilst undergoing chemotherapy. At 1st I paid for the hospital tv £20 for 3 days but then had a small TV brought in from a friend with a digital aerial & built in free view, this made things so much easier.

Over the last 6 months being in hospital for 5 of those, without my TV I would had gone crazy.

I would like to give something back to the wards and decided to fund raise for this particular ward as patients are here for long stays, in 1 room not allowed outside of the room due to treatment and some with no visitor's or very minimal visits and really can not afford to pay for the hospital tv with all the other financial worries that come with Cancer!!

So, my lovely crazy friend Stacie Gostage has kindly offered to do a Wing Walk in order to raise funds for me to be able to hopefully buy as many TV's & Digital aerials as we can for cancer patients going through weeks/months off in house treatment, to help them get through the day, help take their/our mind of things.

It really can be a very lonely time, and I would love for all the help I can get to do this, I am still in QA receiving treatment and awaiting a stem cell transplant so my treatment will be nearing 9 months before hopefully I'm home fully, there is just no way I could have had afforded to have the hospital TV on.

Giving back to these wards would mean the absolute world to me as on 1st diagnosis I was given weeks to live without treatment and now 6 months later I'm here doing well and just a stem cell transplant away from being cured (fingers crossed). I owe people my life I really do my children (Amilei, Haidon & Jake) still have their mum, my family still have me and its all Thanks to the amazing Oncolog & Hematology teams at QA.
