KINSLEY IS COMING HOME!

Kinsley Valerie Rose Bondi is a little peanut who is loved so very much. She was born on April 4th, 2019 - 8 weeks prematurely.  She has been in the NICU since her birth and she is getting stronger every day at McMaster Children's Hospital with help from a team of doctors and nurses who continue to astound us with their incredible level of care and love.

Her parents, my brother Justin and my sister-in-law Daniela are with her constantly. Massaging her, cuddling her, caring for her and loving her with all their hearts.

Kinsley has considerable health issues beyond being a preemie. She has a condition called Myotonic Dystrophy which affects her physical and mental development. She is going to need extra care for a  long time. Justin and Daniela have an amazing support network. They are surrounded with friends and family who love them all so very much and this is valued and appreciated by them all.

As we know, money can't buy you love, but it  can alleviate stress. And right now, there is a lot of stress. Anyone who has been a new parent understands the commitment that goes along with that role but adding in a tiny wee girl who needs even more care, a single income family and it's a whole different story.

On April 15th, Kinsley is scheduled to come home. In December, she was given a tracheostomy plus ventilation to help her lungs develop with the goal for her to become independent of it entirely. Until then, there is a lot of care needed. 24 hours of it.  Ventilation systems, humidification, live-in nurses, and equipment...so much equipment...and thankfully our healthcare helps with a lot of it but there is a large percentage that isn't covered by OHIP and Kinsley's mom and dad could use some help.

Justin and Daniela are amazing. They are devoted to their daughter and to each other in a way that is inspiring to those around them. It would be wonderful to help them enjoy their new family time when Kinsley comes home and help alleviate the stress of accumulating financial responsibilities which can be overwhelming at the best of times.

If you're inclined to help, it would be wonderful and Kinsley and her mom and dad thank you very much. xx
