Help Waltraud to get a bone marrow transplant

Ich schreibe diesen Beitrag für eine liebe Bekannte die im September 2020 leider mit chronischer lymphatischer Leukämie diagnostiziert wurde. Es fing alles damit an, dass Waltraud plötzlich über Nacht nichts mehr auf ihrem rechten Ohr hören konnte. Sie begab sich in ärtztliche Behandlung, wo die Ärtzte dachten es sei eine Mittelohrentzündung. Die drauf folgende Behandlung verlief jedoch erfolglos. 
Im Krankenhaus wurde ihr dann ein großes Blutbild erstellt und durch den MRT erkannte man dann um was es sich handelt. 

Am 17. September 2020 erfolgte somit die erste intervenöse Chemotherapie im Krankenhaus und für einen Monat schien als nahm der Apltraum ein Ende. Doch der Krebs kam zurück, dieses Mal noch aggressiver und am 19. Oktober gab es dann die zweite Chemo. Waltraud wurde ein Portkatheter gelegt, da ihre Venen zu schwach sind. 



Jede Woche geht Waltraud zur Blutuntersuchung und ärtztlicher Beratung. Sie bewegt sich quasi nur noch zwischen Notaufnahme, Station und ihrem Zuhause. Stets in Begleitung, weil ihre Angst alleine zu sein viel zu groß ist. Sie ist sehr fragil, ständig müde und schnell erschöpft. 

Im April 2021 wurde die Chemotherapie von intervenös auf Tabletten umgestellt, da sie besser verträglich für sie sind. 




Dazu kommen noch viele weitere Medikamente die sie täglich zu sich nehmen muss




Ihre letzte Chance auf Heilung ist eine Stammzelltransplantation (Knochenmarktransplantation) die aber sehr kostenspielig ist und von der Krankenkasse nicht übernommen wird. Durch die Therapie können neue Blutstammzellen im Körper wachsen und das Immunsystem wird erneuert. Die Knochnemarktransplantation kostet 110 000€ und wir sind um jede Spende dankbar!

I'm writing this post for a dear friend who unfortunately was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in September 2020. It all started when Waltraud suddenly couldn't hear anything in her right ear from one day to another. She underwent medical treatment where the doctors thought it was an otitis media. However, the subsequent treatment was unsuccessful.
In the hospital, she was then given a complete blood count and the MRI showed what it was.

On September 17, 2020, the first intervenous chemotherapy took place in the hospital and for a month it seemed as if the nightmare was coming to an end. But the cancer came back, this time even more aggressive and on October 19th the second chemo followed. Waltraud was placed in a port catheter because her veins are too weak.

Waltraud goes to blood tests and medical advice every week. She basically only moves between the emergency room, the ward and her home. Always in company, because her she feara being alone. She is very fragile, constantly tired and quickly exhausted.

In April 2021, chemotherapy was switched from intervening to tablets, as they are more compatible for her.
There are also many other medications that she has to take on a daily basis


Her last chance for healing is a stem cell transplant (bone marrow transplant), which is very expensive and is not covered by health insurance. The therapy allows new blood stem cells to grow in the body and the immune system can bes renewed. The bone marrow transplant costs € 110,000 and we are grateful for every donation!

Estoy escribiendo esta publicación para una querida mujer que, lamentablemente, fue diagnosticado con leucemia linfocítica crónica en septiembre de 2020. Todo comenzó cuando Waltraud de repente no pudo escuchar nada en su oído derecho durante la noche. Fue a tratamiento médico donde los médicos pensaron que era una otitis media. Sin embargo, el tratamiento posterior no tuvo éxito.
En el hospital, le hicieron un hemograma completo y la resonancia magnética mostró de qué se trataba.

El 17 de septiembre de 2020 tuvo lugar la primera quimioterapia de intervención en el hospital y durante un mes pareció que su pesadilla llegaba a su fin. Pero el cáncer volvió, esta vez aún más agresivo y el 19 de octubre se realizó la segunda quimioterapia. Waltraud se colocó en un catéter de puerto porque sus venas están demasiado débiles

Waltraud acude a análisis de sangre y consulta médica todas las semanas. Básicamente, solo se mueve entre la sala de emergencias, la sala y su casa. Siempre en compañía, porque su miedo a estar sola es demasiado grande. Es muy frágil, constantemente cansada y rápidamente agotada.

En abril de 2021, la quimioterapia pasó de intervenir a tabletas, ya que son más compatibles para ella.

También hay muchos otros medicamentos que debe tomar a diario.

Su última oportunidad de curarse es un trasplante de células madre (trasplante de médula ósea), que es muy caro y no está cubierto por el seguro médico. La terapia permite que crezcan nuevas células madre sanguíneas en el cuerpo y se renueve el sistema inmunológico. ¡El trasplante de médula ósea cuesta 110.000 € y estamos agradecidos por cada donación!
