Help Carol Ann with Memorial Expenses
Jeff Davis fell asleep in death on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Cleveland Clinic from COVID-19. Carol Ann will be taking him home to Western Tennessee where his children, Hillary and Brandon, his parents, and his four grandbabies live. Carol Ann and her husband, Jeff live in Chillicothe, Ohio. As a result of an injury on the job, he had a much needed lower back fusion on April 19, 2021. This surgery accomplished what was intended but he had a long road of recovery ahead of him with Carol Ann as his caregiver. In early May during his recovery, he and Carol Ann both tested positive for COVID-19. They battled with this terrible virus, but on May 12thJeff had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital where he has been treated with increasing amounts of oxygen.
This is their story in Carol Ann's words on May 22, "Jeff had the lower lumbar surgery that he so badly needed on April 19th. Four days later he lost his job and then we both tested positive for COVID. Everyday Jeff has required a stronger method of oxygen. The next step from where he is now is a ventilator. The doctor has told us only 5% of people survive that. I am watching everyday my best friend slowly die and fight for every single breath that flows through his lungs."
On May 25th Jeff had to be placed on a ventilator. He is eligible for other treatments not available at his current hospital. Presently, he is being airlifted to Cleveland Clinic.
This situation has taken a toll on them both physically, emotionally and financially. The day-to-day costs of living have not stopped, not to mention the future costs of being away from home for an undetermined amount of time while Jeff is receiving treatment in Cleveland. Being off work due to the original surgery, being terminated, and the unknown length of time and medical expenses to fight this virus are potentially vast.
