Help Rainbow Service Dogs, Inc. Secure a Home!

Tax deductible
Rainbow Service Dogs, Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit program geared toward helping individuals train their service dogs with the support of peers, the community, and the expertise of Executive Director and founder Kelley Fecteau. Kelley's rental home (and the home of RSD) has just been sold. She has three months to pack up and vacate. The money raised through this GoFundMe will buy a permanent home for Rainbow Service Dogs, Inc. Any additional funds will be placed into Rainbow Service Dogs' scholarship programs.

Kelley does not take any compensation for her labor, with100% of tuitions and grants going directly into the program, sliding scale fees, and veterinary and training scholarships. Kelley works with American Warriors Initiative to place trained service dogs with veterans. She advocates for the rights of Autistic children and supports clients with diverse psychiatric and trauma-related diagnoses. RSD currently serves 40 to 51 handler-dog teams and maintains a waiting list. Of those member teams, more than 1/3 are veterans. Rainbow Service Dogs is the ONLY training program that allows children under 18 to participate in their own dogs' training, encouraging family members to participate. Rainbow Service Dogs is unique in that everyone is treated like a family. Members are encouraged to take part in activities outside of training. RSD offers not only training but emotional support and encouragement. They offer training at schools on service dogs in the community and have facilitated many educational days in multiple elementary and middle schools.

"My name is Kelley Fecteau. I am the Executive Director and founder of Rainbow Service Dogs. I began RSD after arriving here in Arizona because I wanted to approach service dog training differently. I had a service dog of my own due to seizures. The seizures were not due to epilepsy or other medical conditions but were psychosomatic seizures due to the years of physical, psychological, sexual and medical trauma I experienced. I was born with many medical issues and have undergone more than 100 surgeries. I am also a cancer survivor of both bladder and uterine cancers. Due to my medical fragility, I was often lonely as a child. This harm was compounded by being victimized by caregivers who were supposed to protect me. I endured many traumas, including time spent in the foster care system and testifying against my abusers. After many years of striving and suffering, I decided that it was time to begin my healing journey truly. Rainbow Service Dogs is a huge piece of that. It is an offering to the community, from my heart".

Testimonials:

"Kelley and her team are absolutely amazing. They work with children of various ages and she has helped our two boys achieve getting their service dogs. Both my boys experience severe medical issues. RSD granted a full scholarship for one of my sons and helped us by giving the second dog at a reduced rate. My sons can now live life without fear and I owe it all to Kelley and her team."

"My name is Ron Lee, I am a Navy Veteran Sea Bee. I have been working together with my service dog, Sophie, in training with Rainbow Services Dogs, since approximately November 2021. Kelley Fecteau worked with me to secure a grant to participate in this program.
Since working with Rainbow Service Dogs, I feel more confident going out in public with my disabilities. Kelley has patience with both the handlers and with the dogs, and is willing to give both the time to learn. Since November Sophie has already earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate.
I have attended several of Kelley’s events to bring awareness to others for contributions needed to keep the programs going. She works diligently for the benefit of the disadvantaged.
Kelley has earned my trust and admiration for all the community outreach and charities that she has helped fund, not just veterans, but children with disabilities.
If anyone deserves any help in her hour of need, it’s Kelley Fecteau.
Please help out if you can"

"My child has struggled with multiple physical, physiological and psychiatric illnesses over the past two years. Kelley has been with us every step of the way, even checking in with her daily by phone while she was hospitalized or in residential treatment. Kelley sets up therapeutic art activities on the weekends to promote connection and community for her teen clients. Kelley's love and support for her clients go far beyond what anyone would expect from a 'dog trainer'. She is a true community leader and an angel on this earth."
