Auld Dubliner Staff relief fund!!!
Hey everyone!
So as we all know California restaurants were ordered to Stop all dine in services on 3/17/20 due to Coronavirus prevention measures, and of course The Auld Dubliner Tustin had to do exactly that. But what most people forget or don’t realize is that 3/17 is not just any old day, for the Dub servers and bartenders It is THE day that you prepare for all year, and the day you count on to provide you financial security to get through the slower months!!! St. Patrick’s Day at an Irish Pub is absolutely crazy and wild but so much fun and 2 weeks ago I NEVER would have thought that all of the staff would be sitting here in an empty Bar trying to figure out what the hell we are all going to do now!
For the last 12 years the dub has been home to not just the staff but SO many customers too!! It has been your place to celebrate all the good times , or console you in the bad times. We celebrated your graduations, engagements, work parties, birthday’s, and even your losses right along with you, and we are so lucky that we have such a great community that we get to serve! Being in the service industry you give up a lot of your holidays, nights and weekends For work, but you do it so your customers know they always have a place to go and people who care about them no matter what, and at the dub we take such pride in our reputation as Being one of the best places Known for exactly that! It’s never just been a place of work for us, it is our home and you’re all a part of our family!
So now comes the part where I ask you for help. We are trying to raise $9,000 which we are splitting equally among all the staff members of the Auld Dubliner. All of the servers and bartenders here at the dub just lost their jobs and only source of income for the foreseeable future, and what’s worse is it came without any warning on the one day a year that we have always been able to count on to provide us with just enough financial security to get through the slower months of the year! We have bartenders and servers with kids and families to provide for that are suddenly without any income! Unlike others in this situation most service industry employees don’t get any Paid Time Off, vacation pay etc and unemployment for servers and bartenders in California isn’t near enough to pay our rent let alone the rest of our finances! So I am asking for anyone that can donate any amount of money for the staff please do so! We want nothing more than to be able to reopen and go back to pouring drinks, watching soccer games and celebrating life when this passes, but in order for us to do that each one of us needs a little help right now!! I know that Coronavirus shutdowns have affected everyone in some way or another so anything you can donate helps us out and if we are able to raise more money than our original goal amount know that we will pay it all forward to another group of service industry employees in need of help!

This is a crazy time we are all going through right now and We all need to come together and support eachother and our community members!! I believe it’s with that unity and mindset that we will make it through this!
