Friends and Family Helping Chenoa Fight Cancer

We would like to share a little bit about a very special person, Chenoa Walsh. She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, Aunt and a friend to everyone who is blessed to meet and know her. Chenoa was born in a small town called Healdsburg, located in Sonoma County, California, where she has lived her entire 29 years of life. Her “hometown roots” may be small, but her family tree is rather big by today’s standards, in that she has 7 brothers, 1 sister and 1 mom. Growing up in a family with lots of siblings teaches you how to make do with what you have, and share with others.

Chenoa was also involved in her community in many different ways, such as being a 4-H member and then an adult 4-H leader, participating in Relay-For-Life, Healdsburg Senior Living Home and was also an assistant caretaker at the Villa Chanticleer for 3 years. Giving back to her community is very important to her. Never backing down on a task that needed to be done, no matter how long it took to accomplish it, such as getting her Floral Certificate from Santa Rosa Junior College, while being a wife and a new mother, which was accomplished because she knew how to stay focused, and complete the task before her, so she could achieve this goal of hers.


And now Chenoa has a new task to accomplish, which is reclaiming her health back from Colon Cancer, that she was diagnosed with, in November 2020. Never did she suspect that her symptoms of malaise and discomfort for several months prior to November could be something as serious as Cancer. She assumed that she just wasn’t feeling good due to all the circumstances happening around her and everyone else during the year 2020, the loss of her favorite job for 9+ years due to the downsizing of her employer because of the Pandemic, becoming a daily teacher for her 7 year old daughter, chasing after her 3 year old daughter during the day and enduring the social isolation that was ongoing month after month in her community.


This has been a lot for Chenoa to comprehend and realize that she isn’t as physically strong and capable to accomplish what she once did several short months ago, especially when you are a person who looks forward to helping others. We, her family understand that these days are challenging times for EVERYONE, and with the uncertainty of what we will all face in the coming days, weeks and months to come, makes it very hard for us to write this letter to ask for your prayers, kind thoughts, helping hands or money if you are able to do so to help make this “next task” that Chenoa is now facing, a little easier. Her husband Don is working full time so he can continue to keep medical insurance for her, all the time wanting to be by Chenoa’s side as she is undergoing her Chemotherapeutic Treatments and other Medical appointments, which are in themselves more challenges to face and overcome.


We do not know what the total financial debt will be when this is all over with, and that is the last thing that Chenoa and Don need to worry themselves with right now, her health and their family’s well-being are our top priorities. We do know this, that when there are many hands helping, the load is not as heavy for the person in need of the help.
