Georges River Rugby Club has been built on community spirit, volunteer effort, and a shared belief that rugby is more than a sport — it’s a family. This year, we’re taking an important step to strengthen that commitment by launching the Georges River Rugby Player Welfare Fund.

The purpose of this fund is simple: to support our players when they need it most. Whether it’s injury recovery, unexpected hardship, or wellbeing challenges that affect their ability to stay involved in the game, we want every player to know they’re backed by their Club and their community.

Why we need your help

We are aiming to raise $4,000 from the community, which the Club will match dollar‑for‑dollar, creating an $8,000 fund to support players throughout the season.

Your contribution will help ensure that no player is left behind due to financial stress or unforeseen circumstances. Every dollar raised goes directly into the Player Welfare Fund and will be administered through a formal, transparent process with a cap of $2,000 per player per year.

Cover medical costs not fully funded elsewhere

Manage unexpected hardship affecting their ability to train or play

Access wellbeing or support services
