GoFundMe for STEVEN FOTH
This is the HUB for all correct and factual information regarding STEVEN FOTH. All updates will be posted on this page. Please check here first before reporting to friends and family on the status of my Dad. There has been some false information spreading around (not intentional I know), which has caused panic among our beloved family and friends. As of 7:52pm my Dad has NOT been medivaced to Oahu, please read below.
All questions should be routed through me, Kalista, and you can email me (respond through here) or call me. If you don't have my number, please email me.
As some of you may have heard my Dad, Steven Foth, was admitted to the hospital on 8/4/2021 with COVID Pneumonia. He was sedated and intubated this morning, 8/6/2021. HE IS NOT OUT OF THE WOODS. FAR FROM IT.
I have started this GoFundMe account to raise money for my Dad's finances that will occur due to hospitalization, physical therapy to come, and my Mom and Dad's regular living expenses for the forceable future. We have been told that his recovery is going to take months and he will not be able to work.
My Dad has a rare autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis which causes a breakdown in communication between his nerves and muscles and limits many medications that he can recieve. Because of this, he was not able to receive the regular antivirals that are generally given to Covid patients. Now on the ventilator, they can breath for him and have the ability to administer these medications without fear of his MG reacting and closing his airway. It will be a couple of days until we know if he is responding to the antivirals.
The Doctor at Kona Hospital (thank you Jesus for him and all of the staff!) is trying to get him transferred to Kaiser in Oahu but currently all of their ICU beds are full. Planning for the Future, they would prefer that he is there due to my Dad's neurologist being on that island and who is very aware of his condition, limitations and needs. They would also prefer for my Dad to be on Oahu when he comes off the ventilator due the the increase in medication that he will need to come off as well as the physical therapy that he will require.
While my Mom and our family would also prefer that he is in Oahu, we are more concerned with who will be able to care for him the best. Our prayers are that the doors would open wide where he needs to stay.
My Mom does get to FaceTime with him tomorrow morning and will be praying with him, talking with him and sharing all of the encouraging words we have received from all of our family and friends from around the world. Please keep sending words, photos, cards.... Please email or send through Facebook messenger or post on my Facebook page.

Prayer requests as of 8/6/2021:
1. That my Dad's lungs stay soft. This is the doctors main concern right now.
2. That the Antivirals will start working immediately.
3. That everyone would continue to speak life over him, life over his lungs, that the breath of God would fill his lungs.
4. That God would heal his Myasthenia Gravis as well as the Covid Pneumonia.
5. Finances to flow in to cover the current and future medical expenses, current living expenses and bills for my mom and dad while he is out of work, future travel and lodging expenses that my Mom will need in Oahu.
6. A house. We can only stay in our current rental until the end of November. We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs :)
7. Peace and wisdom for my Mom, myself (Hinano and Zephaniah, Kya and baby Elijah, our extended family, as we navigate everything that is about to come.
Mahalo,
Kristy and Kalista and all of the Foth family
