What started out as a routine morning for our stepfather has turned into one of the worst tragedies our family has ever experienced.
Reggie was ejected from his motorcycle while on his way into work on Monday, May 23rd. Despite wearing a helmet, he suffered severe injury. When good samaritans came to his aide, they found him unresponsive and stayed by his side until the EMT’s arrived. Reggie is currently on life support at Shands ICU fighting for his life. The doctors have determined he suffered numerous severe and extensive injuries, the worst of which is a TBI, or a Traumatic Brain Injury. It is still unknown whether he will make a full recovery.
Our mother, Reggie’s wife and partner for the last 17 and a half years, is heartbroken and devastated, but is relying on her faith and strength. At this time she and Reggie need an immense amount of support, prayers, love and uplifting.
Reggie, who is also known as Percy, Percival, Reg, and Regis, is a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, a proud Marine veteran, beloved local postman, and friend to all. The kind of person that would help anyone who asked, lighten the atmosphere with his quirky sense of humor, or offer some fatherly advice.
We are asking for those that can help to consider donating to try to help relieve some of the financial pressures including medical costs and lost wages, so our mother can focus on what we hope to be Reggie’s successful road to recovery.
