GoFundMe for Oscar Galli

Thank you for the outpouring of love and support for Oscar Galli (20). His parents Rebecca (Blake) Oliver and Francesco Galli, and his siblings Izzy and Nilo Galli are very grateful. I am setting up this Go Fund Me page to support my nephew and his family during this very difficult time. 

 

On Thursday, December 17, just a few days after his 20th birthday, Oscar and a group of friends were in a terrible head-on collision that ended with their car rolling over into a field in Antella, Italy. There were 6 people injured in the accident. It took 5 ambulances to take the injured people to various hospitals around the Florence. Oscar was a code red.  Oscar sustained significant head injuries and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit at Careggi Trauma Unit in Florence, where he is receiving excellent care. On Monday the 20th Oscar had a lengthy surgery that took well over 11hrs. The surgeons needed to repair Oscar’s skull with metal plates and then had to deal with all the delicate facial reconstruction. He is now in a medically induced coma for his recovery. He in stable condition. With all the COVID restrictions the Hospital is only allowing Blake (his mom) and Francesco (his dad) in to see him. They can only go in one at a time and are often ushered out his room at the drop of the hat. While there is much we don’t know, it is likely that Oscar’s road to recovery will be a long haul.

 

Many people have asked what they can do to help. This Go Fund Me page has been established to give all of Oscar’s friends, family and supporters the opportunity to help in whatever way they can. A kind note, a prayer, a financial donation, or even just a funny story about Oscar is appreciated and will help keep the family strong through this incredibly difficult time.

 

Oscar’s family is so grateful for the tremendous support they have received so far from across the globe. All proceeds of this Go Fund Me will go directly to Oscar and his family. Thank you for all of your support!!
