Updated GoFundMe for My Dad and Family

After 5 months in recovery from surgery, my Father has passed away on Sunday, December 19th, 2021. He was battling hard for the last 20 years of his life with not being able to eat or drink anything by mouth and battling life threatening diseases since 40 years old. My Dad is the strongest man I know and after his passing and during recovery my Mother was faced with holding the burden of being the main support for the family and has to pay for all of the bills and is no longer getting any disability or income from my Father and is unable to get social security benefits until she is 60. All of the donations are greatly appreciated. Everything is going to my Mom and it has really helped her and is continuing to help her as this GoFundMe continues. I feel bad delivering this message over a public GoFundMe but all of your donations are really going to a good cause and are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2nd Update: My Father, George Wachter, is about to be taken into Hospice care the day after his 61st birthday which he spent in the ICU. Since August of 2021, my Father has been in 3 different hospitals without coming home. It is now December making it about 5 months of him being in the hospital without coming home. He was originally admitted in the ER of Upper Chesapeake which is where they decided he needed spine surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center. This surgery took 12 hours and he was originally going to be in recovery for a few months, but it turned worse when he contracted a severe drug resistant pneumonia while on the ventilator. The doctors and medical team have sent him through full courses of the strongest known antibiotics and none of them are working. He is about to be taken into Hospice care to be cared for as greatly as possible before he passes away in the hospital. My Dad has been fighting diseases since he first got cancer in 2004 and he has been through so much more than I could ever imagine. It is seriously the craziest things I've ever seen, how much he has gone through is unimaginable and I couldn't wish for less than the very best for him. All of your donations are greatly appreciated and are going to a great cause, my Dad would give all the money to my mom if he was able to receive them however this is mostly for my Mom who needs the financial support during these times. She can't get my Dad's disability after he passes, and she cannot get social security benefits until she is 60. So really, all the support is greatly appreciated and I wish you all the best.

Previous Story BEFORE UPDATE :
My name is Anthony and I am fundraising for my parents/family. My Dad is currently in recovery at Johns Hopkins Bayview from a serious 12 hour surgery he had on his neck and spine at University of Maryland Medical Center. He has been in recovery for the past 2-3 months and he is finally coming off of the Ventilator which was breathing for him. He is doing this on top of all of his past surgeries that he's had in his life including after he was originally diagnosed with oral cancer the first time in 2004 and then the second time in 2009 which is when he had his first severe surgery. My dad was a great chef all of his life, he cooked the best food and this always got to me because after that severe surgery he is never able to eat again. The surgery damaged his esophagus muscles and epiglottis and he needed a feeding tube to be put in after continuous degradation of his throat. This caused so many complications that I wouldn't of ever thought of like the radiation from cancer treatment damaged and killed his jaw bone and he needed reconstructive jaw surgery ~5 years later in ~2014 which was another 18 hour surgery. After this he is only ~56 yrs old and weaker from all the complications but still pushing. A couple years passed with no serious complications but after all this, he hits another bump in the road, he was told he has severe double pneumonia which was so bad it caused him to be medically induced into a coma for 2 weeks and put on a roto-prone bed(a special bed that rotated him so the fluid wouldn't bunch up in his lungs). My dad is the strongest man I know and he has gone thru more than a lot of people have and he still tells me that there are people worse than him. With god we keep pushing and we believe that anyone can get through anything if you put your mind to it. My mom has recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and my poor dog Dunkin has terminal bladder cancer. Again with God we will get thru this but anything helps there's no real Goal just the most possible and everything is really greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!
