GoFundMe for Lee Spain

On August 16th, at approximately 5:30 AM CST. My father, Lee Spain, was getting ready for his Patrol Shift, Put his uniform on and began doing his everyday routine of grabbing coffee and a smoke before heading out the door.

Due to his medical background, he observed something was off in which he identified as a stroke.

He was able to call 911, and fortunately, due to him residing in the district where he works, they quickly identified that something was wrong.

EMS confirmed my father's suspicions and Life-Flighted him to a stroke center, where doctors also confirmed my father's suspicions.

Unfortunately, due to medication complications, they could not reverse some deficits in his speech and movement in his right arm.

My Father has a long road ahead of him with PT, Speech Therapy and continued medications.

The last stressor he needs is to worry about income lost due to this incident, expenses for therapy, medical bills, etc.

He has served in public safety for approximately 37 years as a Firefighter, Police Officer, and EMT and is currently an officer with the Dunlap Police Department.

I know that he wants nothing more than to continue serving the people of Dunlap and his path in Public Safety.

I post this gofundme in hopes this will help keep him motivated, strong, and focused on the steps ahead.
