Our hearts are broken. Our dear friend Subash Saha was involved in a fatal car accident on December 11, 2019, when an intoxicated driver ran a red light and hit him directly on the driver’s side of his car. Just like any other day Subash was returning home from Tom Thumb, where he worked as a pharmacy tech. On this particular evening, he was bringing home lunch for his children to take to school the next day. The accident occurred just five minutes away from his home. The paramedics had to cut through the vehicle to rescue Subash and he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

We are lucky to have known Subash. He will be remembered for his passion for singing and his involvement in the arts. He was a friend, brother, and a fatherly figure to many in the community. Subash is survived by his wife Shilpi, daughter Shreya, and son Shibom. He was a loving husband and father to his children.

In an instant, the intoxicated driver not only killed Subash but killed a whole family's dreams. Subash was the sole breadwinner of his household while Shilpi worked part-time. Shreya is a senior in high school and is planning to attend college in Fall 2020. Shibom will just be starting middle school next year. As a community, we want to help our friends during this difficult time of hardship. Just like many other immigrants, Subash hoped to provide a better life for his family. We hope to raise money for funeral expenses, the family’s living expenses, and Shreya’s and Shibom’s future.
