Hi family, friends, and loved ones! Thanks for visiting my gofundme page. Also, for those visiting my page via word-of-mouth and/or social media link who do not personally know me, my name is Dillon Spivey. I am 26 years old.
Let me tell you my story. Back in December, I developed a pesky cough. I went through a round of antibiotics and then had a follow-up x-ray on my chest. The x-ray revealed that I have a tumor in my chest. So, I was referred to an oncologist and was quickly setup for a CT scan. The CT scan showed that the tumor is approximately 9.5 cm large and is near my heart, lung, and neck area. I had biopsy surgery on my neck on February 28th. Those results were inconclusive. I had another biopsy surgery on March 4th. This time it was taken from my chest. I also got a chemotherapy port inserted in my chest during this surgery. On March 7th, my doctor informed me that I have Stage 3 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. According to the National Cancer Institute, this means that cancer is present on both sides of the diaphragm in one or more lymph nodes groups, in the spleen, or in a location near a lymph node area.
Currently, I am scheduled to undergo some radiation treatment later in the week of March 4th. This treatment is primarily to shrink the tumor some so that I can breathe a little better. The chemotherapy treatment will also begin soon for me and is expected to last six months.
I need these generous funds as soon as reasonably possible because of the completed biopsy surgeries and the treatment that is already underway or planned. Since I am not able to fully support myself during these tests and treatments, I humbly request that you give what you can to financially assist me during this challenging time in my life. These funds will go directly to help me pay for my treatment, insurance premiums, and necessary living expenses while I recover from this medical issue. Most importantly, you can also help me with your thoughts and prayers!
Again, thanks for everything you give. I appreciate this more than you know. I do anticipate that I will have a tough road to recovery. However, I am in good spirits and have great comfort in knowing that I have such a loving and supportive group of family and friends. In addition, please know that I fully trust in God’s plan for me, whatever it may be.
Thanks and may God Bless You All!
