Our father (Antonio Garcia) was the recipient of a kidney transplant in UCSD Hillcrest on April of 2015. Unfortunately, the transplanted kidney did not work out for him and made him very ill. He was in and out of the hospital the entire year. After eight months of fighting for his life, the fight ended when he passed away the day before Christmas Eve in San Diego. This year has been extremely difficult on our family as we have spent most of our time in San Diego being by his side. My family and I all live in the San Fernando Valley and the past eight months of driving back and forth to San Diego has taken a huge financial toll on us. As a family, we were hopeful that my father would recover and we could bring him back home. Sadly, that was not meant to be and we are raising money for the funeral costs. My father was a great man who geniunely cared for others. He always stood by his family and friends. We are deeply saddened to have lost him but will always keep his memory alive.
