TL/DR: Fred's truck was stolen. Help.

"Call Fr-Uber"

New Orleans, Dec 17, 2016 3:55am
Of course it's cold and wet, the night that my vehicle decides to quit. After just closing a bar, tips in hand, exhaustion setting in, and now tasked with getting home safely. The fear of walking alone from Central City to the 7th ward in the middle of the night (with rent in my pocket), is second only to the frustration of the moment. No card with which to use a ride-share app. No idea which cabs actually show up.  The fear and frustration don't last long. I look up and see the comfort of that easily recognizable beacon of hope, Fred's truck. Call Fr-uber.

New Orleans, Feb 2016
:
The parades are rolling. The beads are flying. The streets are packed, parking is impossible (highly coveted and strictly enforced). Mardi Gras is only days away. The city is filled to the brim with revelry and tourists, but your still have to work. How are you ever going make it passed St. Charles ave in time? Call Fr-uber.

So many stories, so little space to elaborate. The point is, Fr-uber has been a lifeline, an ambulance, a moving van, liquor delivery, safe and sober ride, airport taxi, welcome home ride, beacon of hope for so many of us.

Well, as happens in New Orleans, Fred's magnificent chariot was stolen a few months back (and recently found on the West Bank, stripped). Fred also had Pioneer radio, 10 inch kicker sub, a dual amp total $300 and $500 of tools in his truck, at the time.

As many of you know, Fred doesn't just take care of all of us... He is also the full-time caretaker for his grandparents.  Being without his truck had made it extremely difficult to provide the best possible care that he can. Not to mention, we as a community, rely dearly on him.

So, in the spirit of New Orleans, the spirit of community, with compassion and gratitude... we ask that you give what you can, and help restore hope in a difficult time, to Central-city's most reliable service... FR-UBER.

Thanks, in advance, y'all.
