GoFoxGo - Helping the Schlaht Family
Donation protected
On the 26th of December, six-year-old Fox Schlaht, was transported to Children's Hospital Dallas with a ruptured AVM* causing bleeding in his brain. He was placed in a medically induced coma and on January 23 underwent brain surgery to remove the ruptured AVM.
Fox is making great progress and we're now celebrating his recent return home! He will be participating in outpatient rehab as he recovers.
As you can imagine, after over a month at Children's Hospital, the increasing cost of fuel, food, medical and day-to-day expenses can be quite the burden in such a difficult time.
If you feel led to contribute to this amazing family, please know that all donations will go directly to them.
*What is an AVM?
An abnormal connection between arteries and veins, usually in the brain or spine.
Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is usually present at birth. The arteries and veins in an arteriovenous malformation can rupture, causing bleeding into the brain or spinal cord.
Symptoms can include headaches and seizures.
Surgery is the most common treatment for brain AVMs. Sometimes, a catheter or radiation may be used to close off vessels. Medication may be used to treat headaches and seizures.
