Each year, the 5th graders at Bancroft Elementary have an incredible opportunity to spend 4 days in Loma Mar, California for an outdoor education overnight trip.  Every Bancroft student looks forward to being a 5th grader so they can have the chance to spend a few days with their friends exploring the great outdoors.

Working with Exploring Horizons Outdoor Schools, students spend the week in nature exploring redwood trees, coastal oak groves, tide pools, and the Pescadero creek.  Whether skipping stones, hiking under the night sky, singing campfire songs or dancing at their “first” Barnyard Boogie, this trip instills a life-long love of nature and creates lifelong memories for students.

For our children, this trip is right around the corner and will take place in November.  To date, Bancroft families have raised nearly $15,000 to send our children to the outdoor ed program, and we are working hard to raise another $10,000 by October 15 to secure our spot.

While we still have a ways to go, we know we can reach our goal with the help of families and friends like you.  All gifts big and small will make a difference!
