God's Grace on John Willis

Donation protected

I want to share the story of God's Grace on my brother John and the need which lays ahead for him and his family. On Friday July 23rd John was involved in a two-vehicle accident while on his way to work. The injuries which John suffered from the impact are, in my mind unimaginable. By the Grace of God John survived the crash. He was air lifted to UK hospital and miraculously remained conscious. John suffered a lacerated liver, multiple fractures in his back and neck, 8 broken ribs on his right side and at least 5 broken ribs on the left side. His right shoulder blade is broken, and he has a large laceration in his head. Yesterday John underwent his fourth surgery since the accident to repair the damage to his neck.

John is a self-employed floor installer and has worked in this trade for thirty plus years. As anyone who has laid flooring knows, this is a very physically demanding job on the entire body. It will be sometime before or if ever, that John will be able to return to work. John always enjoyed fishing and reading his bible when not working. John is the father of two wonderful children, a daughter Sarah & husband Joseph Gray who are expecting their first child in a few months. His son Austin and wife Melissa Willis. John's wife Mary (a cancer survivor) has hardly left his side since the accident, staying day and night at UK hospital.

I watched Friday in the I.C.U. as Mary would talk to John, he would open his eyes each time she spoke words of reassurance and encouragement, “I'm here John, everything's going to be alright, I am here". The first battle of many to be fought and endured by this family. It will be a long road to recovery.

We know that it is only by God's Grace that we daily rise, go to work, and return home. There are also times this cycle is changed and our needs cannot be met within ourselves. While the Grace of God is what will see John and his family through this tragedy, we know that God can use each of us to help others in some way, through our Prayers, Love, and Generosity. If you can help John and his family by donating it would be greatly appreciated. Your Gift will lighten the financial burden that will now be on their shoulders with the loss of his income and allow the family to focus on John's recovery.

If you are unable to donate, please hold them up in Prayer. Prayer changes things and is an unmeasurable gift to bestow.
