God’s Calling! The Shaun-Neil Walker Story

Hello Family and Friends,

My name is Dwayne Andrew D’Avilar, and I am fundraising for my cousin, Shaun-Neil Walker, who lives in Jamaica, West Indies. Every now and then God calls on us to help others. So this is the time! Shaun has been a Type 1 Diabetic / Insulin Dependent for the last 25 years of his life. He is currently 42 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Stage 5 Kidney Failure. This change in his medical condition has significantly limited his ability to work and requires that he receives the following treatments frequently, to survive:

• Dialysis 2-3 times weekly to detoxify his blood.

• Blood transfusions biweekly to treat preconditions of Kidney Failure such as anaemia / low blood count.

• Optician visits once weekly to monitor and treat preconditions of Kidney Failure such as pressure build up in his eyes and vision loss.

Up until his diagnosis, Shaun-Neil was an active cook specializing in curry cuisines making a living from feeding and helping others. Now he struggles to help himself and seeks the help of the Crowd Funding Community to aid him in his fight for survival. Shaun-Neil’s interim goal is to fund his treatments or acquisition of a dialysis machine with a long-term focus on a kidney transplant.

My family in Jamaica is currently applying for a grant through the Ministry of Health to help with the treatments but that money if we get it might only find a month and a half of treatment.
