Goddard Closure Community Support for Herukhuti
Donation protected
For 17 years, Herukhuti dedicated his life to teaching and advocacy at Goddard College. As the cofounder of the Decolonial Sexuality Studies program, he transformed the way students engaged with art, sex, gender, racial justice, equity, restorative justice, communication, and decolonization. Herukhuti was a tireless advocate for teachers and students, navigating multiple administrations and fighting for their rights.
During Goddard’s closing, he provided emotional support for his students, holding space for their grief and uncertainty. Now, with the college shuttered, Herukhuti is facing significant financial hardship and is at risk of losing the apartment he has called home for the past decade.
The Goddard alumni community recently rallied to support another teacher, Muriel, and now we’re asking for your help to ensure Herukhuti can keep his home. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. They can close our school but they can't take away our community!
If you know of housing grants or nonprofits that could help, please contact Izzy at [email redacted].
Let’s come together to support someone who has given so much to others. Thank you for your generosity!
