Help My Parents Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire
A few days ago, my parents experienced something no family should ever have to go through their home was completely destroyed in a freak accident fire.
My mom was woken up with the smell of smoke and the smoke detectors blaring. When she woke up, flames had already spread across the back sliding doors. Thankfully, she was able to escape safely and quickly to find my sister and call 911.
My dad wasn’t home at the time, as he was at a doctor’s appointment.
By the time firefighters arrived, it was too late. The entire house was engulfed, and when the flames were finally put out, nothing was left but the frame. Everything inside, their clothes, furniture, photos, and all the memories collected over a lifetime, turned to ash in minutes.
If you know Marlent and Rudy, you know that they are the most hardworking, giving, and selfless individuals one can meet. They are two people who never hesitate to help anyone who needs it. They have spent their lives pouring into others without asking for anything in return, and now they are the ones who need to be poured into.
Right now, my parents are heartbroken but grateful to be alive. They are starting from scratch and will need support to rebuild what was lost clothing, basic necessities, and eventually, a roof over their heads again.
What makes this even more devastating is that they were in the process of getting approved for insurance, there is no approval now.
We are believing that this is not the end of their story, but the beginning of a new chapter one where they will be lifted, restored, and covered by the kindness of others.
Thank you for standing with my family during this time. Your prayers, your love, and your support mean more than words can express.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send them kind words, it means the world. Every bit of help counts during this unimaginably hard time. Thank you for reading and for caring for our family.
